*3* is a three-minute composition for trombone and live electronics that explores the musical and symbolic significance of the number three. Groups of three, repetition, triads, and thirds shape the work’s structure. The trombone functions like a magical lamp: each “wish” opens a new musical character. By striking the mouthpiece three times, the performer triggers the next sonic state. Live electronics respond to the performance and transform the sound in real time. At the end, the piece returns to its original material, completing a circular form.
