Portrait of Parsa B. Sabet at the piano

Biography

Composer, Pianist and Music Producer

Parsa B. Sabet (*2003, Tehran) is a composer and pianist living in Vienna. Since 2024, he has been studying composition at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK).

His work moves at the intersection of music, systems thinking, and sound research. Starting from numbers, physical models, and abstract structures, he develops compositional processes in which form is not predetermined, but rather emerges from the material itself. Recurring numerical titles refer to this conceptual approach. In 2026, he was also a finalist in the Ö1 Talent Exchange.

A central focus lies in the connection between instrument and electronics. In his works, he investigates sound as a physical phenomenon and malleable material—between control and emergence, structure and openness.

His works include 9 for Paetzold recorder and electronics (as part of Wien Modern 38, November 2025), 2525 for actor and piano four hands (world premiere: Bechstein Centrum, December 2024), 1212 for solo piano (world premiere: Bechstein Centrum, January 2025), 262 for chamber orchestra (world premiere: MUK-Podium, May 2025), and Bigbang for small ensemble (world premiere: Steinway Zentrum Wien, June 2025). Together with his colleague Artur Akhiamov, he also composed the music for Christian Werner’s short film Grüne Tür (Green Door) (world premiere: July 3, 2026, Film Museum Vienna).
